the natural gardeners

Yesterday, Tom and I helped stimulate our local economy by purchasing plants from awesome gardening center The Natural Gardener. If you're in Austin and have a remotely green thumb (or hope to) you have to check this place out. Despite the intense heat (already!) I could have wandered around here for hours.

They only stock in-season veggies (so that meant no lettuce that would wilt in the TX sun), which is great for people who get frustrated with mega-store plants that die because they can't survive the climate. They also have an intense selection of plants, Xeric plants (ie, plants that can survive the weather in TX), a little garden, and compost tea.

We planted our garden up yesterday, but since I am still sans camera, you'll have to wait for pictures. In the meantime, I've been cruising etsy looking for some cute garden stakes to differentiate our plants. I'm really loving these stamped nickel stakes, from etsy seller NinaGibsonDesigns.
