In more garden news that couldn't possibly interest anyone but myself (and Tom), we have some cucumbers growing!

A cucumber was the only food to grow last year; it was promptly stolen and partially eaten by a squirrel.
It's been so fun to watch things grow this year. Last year, after nothing grew, we really didn't know what to expect and now have a serious crowding problem in our garden. The zucchini has grown so big that it began covering the squash, which in turn had to be moved (we'll see about that). I also had to move chives to make room for the zucchini.

Our cherry tomatoes are beginning to ripen, as well, and it looks like I'll have plenty of mint for this weekend. What's happening this weekend? My family is in town, and we'll be celebrating by having a backyard bbq with mint juleps (or mojitos - Momma Frites doesn't like Bourbon - so where do I get it from?), grilling and lots of sweating.
And directly after my family leaves, I'll be rushing off to NYC in order to celebrate my bestfriend's Bridal Shower & Bachelorette Party - all in one weekend. And of course, in the mean time, I've been working like crazy on Pommes Frites, making many book safes, new products, taking pictures of magnets, mirrors and pins, editing pictures, etc. It will be nice to have some downtime with good friends and family.

I'm interested. I love cukes! Are you going to pickle them? Delicious!
yay! I'm not sure what we're going to do yet... I don't think they were "pickling cucumbers". What's funny is we planted all these delicious veggies in our garden, but now don't know what to cook with them! We totally wimped out on the zucchini and put it into a stir fry. bo-ring!
I was thinking maybe cucumber salad? By the time they ripen, it could be that time of year!
