4th of July Giveaway!

It's no secret I adore all things Americana, so it goes without saying I totally love the Fourth of July. Sparklers! Potato salad! Spiked lemonade! 50% off America themed items at stores!

To celebrate, I'll be hosting a giveaway of five vintage map magnets. These vintage map magnets are a new-ish addition to the Pommes Frites repertoire, but have already proved to be very popular!

I make them using old road and world atlases and my trusty professional button maker. The magnets measure 2.25" across and are backed with sheet magnet. I keep a couple on my fridge to remember my hometown, but a lot of people also get them to commemorate favorite trips or celebrate each family member's birth place.

The winner of this giveaway will receive five custom map magnets - from anywhere you want! Not just limited to the US! Get all the cities where you've ever lived, your favorite vacation spots, or pick up a magnet each for your bestfriends. Send your mom a classy souvenir of a family trip, or keep em all for yourself! Each magnet will come in a hand stamped (and recyclable!) kraft paper envelope. If you need help picking five cities or countries, peruse my shop for ideas.

Here's how to enter!
1. Leave a comment on this blog post and tell me your favorite 4th of July pastime. Watching fireworks with your family? Seeing the parade? Absconding from the red white and blue and dressing in all black? Or you can share a link to your favorite FoJ recipe! If you're not from the US... tell me about your favorite summer pastime.

2. Please make sure you include a way to contact you in your entry comment - whether it's an etsy shop, a twitter account or an email address. If you do leave an email address, make sure it's in this format: myname [@] whatev.com - I don't want any of you getting spammed up! If I do not have a way to contact you, your entry will not be counted.

3. Each comment will count as one entry. You can also tweet or blog about this contest for additional entries - just be sure to mention me - @pommes_frites or send me the link so I can be sure to count it!

4. Entries must be received by July 4th at NOON. The winner will be announced here, on the blog, later in the day. If you win, I will contact you to get your cities or countries for your custom map magnets.

Here are a few magnets I've created for custom orders in the past...

Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! pommesfritescraft [@] gmail.com, and good luck!

I want these adorable magnets. Sooo sweet! My favorite thing to do on the Fourth of July is NOT to light things on fire, but to eat a lot of fantastic food. This year, I got my eye on a whole lot of biscuits! xoxxoxoxo

not sure if this counts as a pastime but my mom used to have these baller american flag keds that are now in my possession (she decided they were too tacky so i gladly took them off her hands). i also enjoy eating wayyyy too much pasta/potato/fruit salad and justifying it as an exercise in my american freedoms. my email is c.weigel@temple.edu or you can hit me up at my blog maybeimanorangepeel.blogspot.com

if you're all about americana (and i can totally relate- i even subconsciously find myself dressing in red white and blue at least twice a week) you should come to philly for the fourth sometime! they do it up real good.

Well since I am from California where pretty much all types of fireworks are illegal, I would have to say I love lighting fireworks.

Plus thoughts of cool drinks, chard food, and patriotism are appealing.

Yay, what an awesome giveaway! I don't know if I have one favorite pastime---there is nothing I don't love about the 4th of July. I do love eating watermelon until I feel like my stomach is going to burst. This is one of the few times I wish I had cable; I miss watching the Twilight Zone marathon on the SciFi channel.
